5 Easy Steps for the Perfect Wedding Day Skin

Want one less thing to stress about on your big day? Wedding day skin prep is almost as (if not more) important than your makeup application itself. Makeup will never look as good as it could without the healthy skin underneath it. We have compiled a short list of the top 5 must have steps in your wedding day skin care routine!

Step 1 — Double Cleanse

Double cleansing is a method used by skin care professionals to ensure a complete and thorough cleansing of the face.
Make sure you’re choosing cleansers that are good for your skin type/texture and be sure to avoid anything that makes your skin feel ‘squeaky’ clean.

Step 2 — Exfoliate

AHAs and BHAs are your best friend! This means no abrasive scrubs. Chemical exfoliants encourage cellular turnover starting in the deeper layers of your skin. Again you’ll want to choose one to start with and implement it slowly into you skin care routine.

Step 3 — Serums

Now this is where you get that glow! Our favorite serums feature ingredients like vitamin C, niacinamide and beta glucan.

Step 4 — Moisturize

This step can be trickier than you think, so it is incredibly important to listen to your skin and see how it responds to different products. With so many moisturizers on the market, finding the right formula for your skin can be hard. First, determine whether your skin needs hydration vs moisture. Hydrating products are typically more gel/water based. After your skin is hydrated, a thicker cream moisturizer can be useful to lock in that hydration.

Step 5 — Sunscreen

Even if your wedding is indoors, you should apply sun protection to your skin every morning to ensure you are protected all day.

Pro Tip: Take your products all the way down your neck, chest and even your arms! Get that glow anywhere that is not covered by your wedding dress.

Try these 5 easy steps the morning of your wedding and your skin will thank you!
